In 2015, Nicola Dunkin was sitting in the Methodist Church following a training day on\u00a0Healing and Wholeness, when she received a picture in her head of herself and a\u00a0group of people praying on the streets of Stamford. Her initial response was, \u201cNo\u00a0way! I can\u2019t do that! Not in a million years!\u201d God simply replied, \u201cYes you can,\u00a0because I will be with you\u201d. She waited a year to see how God would act, and she\u00a0found other Christians who had enthusiasm for the same idea. God brought people to\u00a0pray about it, people to train the volunteers and the money to set it all up. He even\u00a0gave us the place where we would stand – just two weeks before we were due to\u00a0begin.
\nThe road to our first POTSS Friday was rocky at times, but we started on Friday 3rd\u00a0June 2016 and felt that God was with us as we stood outside St. John\u2019s Church on the\u00a0corner with the High Street. That first morning we were blessed with the privilege of\u00a0praying for 8 people in the hour between 11 am and noon. Two days later, the first\u00a0volunteers were commissioned in a lovely service at Stamford Methodist Church. We\u00a0are an ecumenical group, representing all the churches in Stamford, believing that we\u00a0should be standing together as Christians in the town. We invite everyone and anyone\u00a0who would like prayer to simply come forward and be prayed for, whatever the need –\u00a0or indeed to give thanks for God\u2019s goodness and provision.
\nIn February 2018,\u00a0the Skells Trust at a Town Council meeting kindly gave us\u00a0<\/span>permission to move to a larger and more appropriate place, so you can now find us\u00a0<\/span>every Friday (Market Day!) morning of the year in St. Michael\u2019s Churchyard, off the\u00a0<\/span>High Street close to the Library between 11 and 12 noon. You should be able to see\u00a0<\/span>our colourful banner and large poster explaining who we are and what we offer.<\/span>\"Big<\/p>\n
