logoChurches Together in Stamford raised nearly £17,500 during 2016 towards the Leprosy Mission’s Nepal appeal. The money is being used to build earthquake proof houses for the most marginalized who lost everything: at £2,500 per house that comes to 7 houses.  There is now a “Stamford Street”: see the photo above of the sign with two of the occupants.  One major contributor to the appeal was the “Thirds Café”, a pop-up café organised by St George’s youth which served nearly 300 3-course meals in 3 days (with help from 8848 Restaurant, Bombay Cottage, and the Covent Garden Soup Co.).
